Tokyo, June 15, 2017 --- Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE: 2914) has announced that it will be introducing new names and designs of four products of Mevius Premium Menthol. New "Mevius Premium Menthol Frozen" from Mevius, the best-selling cigarette brand with the No.1 share of market in Japan(*), will be rolled out nationwide from early August, 2017.
Mevius Premium Menthol will be upgraded to Mevius Premium Menthol Frozen
Since the name change from Mild Seven to Mevius, JT has been developing Mevius Premium Menthol products featuring its "100% Natural Menthol" proposition. It is now being upgraded to offer consumers the clear taste of 100% Natural Menthol with extra coolness by using a newly invented "Frozen Filter" to boost the menthol sensation to be enjoyed more directly. The package design will be aligned with the Premium Menthol series, featuring "imagery of crystal cold ice".
The package design of Mevius Premium Menthol Option line will be redesigned with no changes to taste or aroma
In the Mevius Premium Menthol Option line, JT has developed "Mevius Premium MentholOption", "Mevius Premium Menthol Option Yellow", and "Mevius Premium Menthol Option Red" with the addition of an aroma-changing capsule in the filter, offering consumers two different tastes with one cigarette. We have redesigned the packages of this line: while clearly expressing the presence of the aroma-changing capsule, we have changed the color tones to better indicate taste and aroma. These products will go on sale nationwide from early August 2017. In addition, we have changed the name of "Mevius Premium Menthol Option" to "MeviusPremium Menthol Option Purple" to better convey an image of the taste and aroma.
With these renewals, JT is continuously aiming to improve its goods and services, in order to meet the diverse preferences of consumers for greater satisfaction.
