Tokyo, February 20, 2017 --- Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE: 2914) has announced the nationwide launch of two new products from Mevius, the best-selling cigarette brand with the No. 1 sales share in Japan(*1). "Mevius Premium Menthol Option Purple 5 100's Slim," and "Mevius Premium Menthol Option Purple One 100's Slim" will be launched nationwide from late April 2017.

Since the name change from Mild Seven to Mevius, JT has been developing Mevius Premium Menthol products featuring its "100 percent Natural Menthol" proposition(*2).
Now, the Mevius Brand includes two lines: "Mevius Premium Menthol" line offers consumers a pure refreshing sensation delivered by 100 percent Natural Menthol with four products. "Mevius Premium Menthol Option" line, including three series, allows consumers to enjoy the pure refreshing menthol and flavored menthol by crushing the aroma-changing capsule. All of these products have been very well received by our consumers.
To meet diversified needs of adult smokers for portable super slim size, JT is launching two "Mevius Premium Menthol Option Purple 100's Slim" products. The two new products provide the flavor and the aroma characterized by the "Mevius Premium Menthol Option," and both offer a strong menthol sensation and impactful smoking experience. Before crushing the capsule consumers will enjoy pure refreshing coolness through 100 percent Natural Menthol. The capsule itself activates an enjoyable aroma sensation.
The packaging features the streamline motif of Mevius with purple light emitting from the capsule emblem, which represents the mix of pure natural menthol refreshment and aroma sensation.
With the launch of the new products JT continues to provide high-quality products and services for Mevius that can satisfy consumers to an even greater extent.
